Given: Synthesizer Yamaha DGX-230 a Midi port-USB.

Objective: to Record music from his computer in good quality.

The synthesizer has a Midi USB output. Now start Cubase, it is written midi track with the synth. However, if you try to do "Export audio mixdown" Cobas just hangs. This is a bug in versions prior to 5.5.3. Version 5.5.3 I have in fact not, and to buy, Cubas only for simple recording of the track is not desirable.

The gugleniya for this reason only finds thousand-page guides for VSTi/DSP/blablabla, which nafig not needed in this case. While I take a MIDI track and convert it to mp3, but the quality is not good.

Is there adequate software, where there are two bold buttons — Record and Save As?..

How do simply and efficiently to record music from my synth via Midi-USB?

MIDI is a format for data transfer, nothing more. What you want to record it in the "good KACH-ve"?

in the synth — the synth sounds
in Cubase — your
so when you play the keyboard through Kubas — you control with the arrow keys synthesizer Cubase, and therefore get a different sound.
I'm not sure, but sometimes you can upload a sound Bank of the synthesizer in Cubas and there to collect the melody.

On the synth audio output, in any case, at least for headphones it is possible to remove the sound and record on the audio card of the computer. The quality will be on the Studio's standards is not much of a Studio, but the analog method will achieve the best approximation to the usual synth sound.

to record therefore you need to record audio input in analog form on an analog track.

Two options.
1. Recorded at the audio input. The headphone output of the synth stick in the linear input of a sound card of a computer. Write WAV or mp3 anything. I like Sound Forge, it immediately process the record. For this fit such a cable:

2. The recorded MIDI. Then will render the software synthesizer of a sound card, not Cubase'ohms. In General, for working with music and MIDI prefer Finale.

1. When you transmit the song via MIDI, it is saved in Cubase as a set of events — when to take note on what track. The sounds themselves are not transmitted via MIDI.
2. I have a great running "Export audio mixdown" or whatever this function is called in all versions of Cubase, in particular, in this (fully portable, recommend).
3. The sound quality when exporting from Cubase depends on the instrumentation samples. For example, the sounds of the piano are very good samples of Ivory, and a series of GALAXY II. For other instruments also need to choose high-quality samples.

People, you are in some forest lost. Why Yamaha makes the USB output on the instrument? In order to download and put driver on your computer this tool, connect it to the computer via USB and use the sound with it in the best quality. The "synthesizer" into the external sound card itself play sounds for Cubase in the audio track played on Your "synth". And get the synth sound in original quality. To do this, after installing all the drivers and connect the instrument to the computer, launch Cubase and in the settings choose "output device" ---> "ваш_синтезатор_по_его_названию_в_windows". Ufff.....
