Rearrange system on the laptop of a friend, on the back side of laptop left a sticker with the license code. Windows — Win XP Home. Trying to find the ISO image, which it would be possible to legally enter key and use the updates. Everywhere, warez, MSDN searched, but not found. Someone tell me where to find licensed images of XP Home?

We should not oppose the take MSDN images from the tracker. I will explain why:
I have an account on MSDN.Six months ago wanted to download from there a way to rearrange the system. But with MSDN swayed for a long time, so downloaded from the tracker (with events), set the system, and then at night put a download image from MSDN and then compared it with what was on the tracker — one to one.
And support from MSDN, by the way, good — tried several times to call, immediately answered.

You need OEM image, and from a particular manufacturer. Not all manufacturers provide it. When you purchase the laptop attached or ROM distribution (for earlier models) or a recovery drive (installed system in factory state) or the installed utility to create this disk from a hidden partition on hard (the last time the most frequent case). Technical support may (but not obliged) to send you a disk if you would make her. Good people sometimes post these images to the trackers, ftp and other places. So look on the forums in topics that discuss this model.

As for the legality, downloaded from somewhere in the image, and then and installing it unfortunately will not be fully legitimate from the point of view of the legislation of the Russian Federation, despite the presence of the key. Although you claim no one produces, because after installation it is impossible to determine from which was taken the distribution. (If interested in details, read on iXBT, there, the issue was chew repeatedly.)

I was such a case: Toshiba Samsung OEM Neu Windows 7 Home Basic. Was successful preupgrade license to Home Premium using Windows Anytime Upgrade (that way interestingly, the Windows OEM license after WAU is a Windows OEM license? The product ID which is in system properties is displayed in the form of xxxxx-yyy-zzzzzzz-zzzzz, part yyy changed from "OEM" to "911")
\r
Then changed the hard on the pristine SSD, installed it with the Home Basic disk Home Basic license box (which I bought for a netbook), it introduced the OEM key from the sticker on the bottom of the laptop. Windows has successfully delivered and activated. After that as I have upgraded to Home Premium using the purchased WAU-key. Again all went well and activated.

Based on this we can assume that the OEM key is also appropriate at least for Retail distribution.
