For me, one of the most important advantages is that the recorded video can be edited directly in the program. For example, to trim, to put where you want splash to do the titles, or add music.
If you plan on posting tutorials on YouTube, the video can be saved in a popular format (as you know, when you upload your video on YouTube, it often shrinks and the quality lost).
