Why WiFi freezes on the Apple iPad 2 when working through the router WRT160NL?

Hi all. Need your help or at least advice.

There are Apple iPad 2 wifi+3g. Have a WRT160NL router with installed DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10).

When working in the network through this router, the connection occasionally hangs. Ceases to load any page/ping the router itself wifi shows full signal, and shows. You have to disable wifi and re-enable. What happens is randomly, and even if physically the device is 2-3 ft from the router.

The most amazing thing is that the other devices are in the house, including from Apple, this problem with this router do not have. But more surprising is that with other networks the iPad works just fine.

What could be the problem? Have no idea how to locate it. I tried various options of the wifi settings, changed the encryption algorithm (now it is WPA2-personal), setting the channel, its width, etc. So far nothing has helped.

Please advise where to look. Thanks in advance!

I have a one-to-one these symptoms with the iPad 3. Treatment is not yet invented. Change router settings to nothing. Sometimes the speed as it should, sometimes it shuts up tight.

In addition to changing the encryption mode on the router you can also try to change the width and number of W-Fi channel. He likewise danced with a tambourine around iPad2 and router on the Atheros chipset c DD-WRT. Currently working Channel Width = 10 Mhz and 10 channel number (it mostly suggest to put in foreign forums and it coincidentally was the most unpopular in the neighborhood). The problem with the drops and the wi-fi in the iPad anymore, but I can't say what exactly the channel parameters affect the result, because the setup time a lot of things changed.
