There is a problem connecting Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250 via USB-cable to the computer with Windows XP SP3 32-bit.
The device is connected via USB cable to the motherboard of the computer directly, not through a USB hub.
Tested on Android versions 4.0, 4.1. Option USB debugging enabled.
Do not install the driver MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) device.
(ID: USB\\Vid_04e8&Pid_6860&MI_00\\6&7e7e11d&1&0000)
When you install reports: "Samsung Mobile MTP Device an error occurred during installation USB devices, required section in the inf file not found".
— Tried official driver packages: Samsung Driver for Mobile Phones, Google USB Driver;
— Tried various third-party driver packages (never got that one?);
— Installed Windows Media Player 11 (which adds to the system support MTP?);
Nothing helped. MTP device is not installed.
Has been tested on various computers with Windows XP and tested different Nexus.
In Windows 7 all works, is defined as the disk.
But how to connect the file system Nexus via the USB cable to a computer with Windows XP?

Had a similar problem that was resolved with update of fire wood of a chipset.
In the most extreme case, you can access it from recovery via adb.

In addition to the above-mentioned references is the idea that the check mark USB debugging prevents the connection in the Kutch-ve masstorage device =)
