Friends, recently the question arose about buying a new computer, my old HP G62 can no longer cope even with downloading windows 8 release preview. In place of the notebook clearly stand desktop. All he will need to work with photoshop/illustrator/dreamweaver and microsot office. Should you buy, a powerful system unit with monitor + windows 8 on Board, or this imac 21"? Will there be problems when switching to Mac and is os x mountain lion are a pleasure to work?

I think no special problems, everything is easy.
Yes to work on osx is really nice, everything is so shustrenko, the system works stably, despite the fact that I updated from snow leopard to lion then to mountain lion, the second year of use of a Mac.
Also think about the imac, macbook pro now
And Yes I use to, the graphics + layout + php

And how can you know whether you are comfortable on the Mac? I, for example, Makos angry on trifles, could not move — abnormal smoothing, mouse acceleration goes without, Home/End will scralet at the end of the page is input, the window to full screen will not deploy, well and much more. But it's very subjective, someone on the contrary it's all like.

Mac enjoys his work. Now I have a MacBook Pro, if needed and possible buy the iMac. To return to Windows is not going to.
Now, perhaps, I should be stoned.

A few months ago was facing the same choice. Thought long and chose the latter, despite the complete lack of flight hours in mahsah. More likely a choice influenced by the almost complete absence of noise, low wires and good (really good) screen. Scared control, which is mentioned denver, but for a couple of weeks poprivyk and decided not to put up any parallel OS. Only had to replace the PC mini keyboard extended wired — much easier to use.

In General, here the question is not even in the choice of operating system (and there, and there is a choice), so I gave my reasoning it is relative to the hardware.
By the way, if you will bow down in the direction of the aimag, make an effort to purchase the 27" is 21. It's worth it. Especially if You expect a "working with photoshop/illustrator/dreamweaver" — in my opinion, perfect.

Before you take the iMac, you have to understand that this is the same laptop on the hardware, but tightly predelany to monitor a large. And if the beauty of a laptop is for mobility +, you can choose any monitor to taste, you tie yourself to your Desk tightly =)

Many designers and/or hipsters like the Mac, but I in an emphasis do not understand why. The funny thing is that eventually they run on it Windows on a virtual machine to run different programs Korela and xary. IMHO better just to put Windows and steam.

I bought a Mac mini two months ago. Put 8 GB of RAM. I'm not znaku how Mac manages athirat all the RAM, but he does it. At work I have a Linux comp as a whole are weaker and 4GB RAM, running on Linux faster and RAM not litter. And home previous computer had only 2GB of RAM and so not being stupid. On the face of a memory leak. In General I just do not ispytyval special joy from the Mac, but thought maybe need to get used to get used. It's been 2 months and I'm still not used to their keyboard shortcuts. To me they seem extremely inconvenient and illogical.

As a substitute of Windows or Linux too does not roll. Not enough clouds Windows program, games are very few and the Linux ports are incomplete. First lacking heaps of standard Linux programs (I need for web development), and secondly, no standard package Manager (there are all sorts of third-party type homebrew and macports, but they are no match for apt-get).
\r
With drivers things are a little better than in Linux, but a hundred times worse than in Windows. Navigation in the Explorer is not easy. Tax Manager (Activity manager) does not correctly show the number otheremail memory. For example, I have employed 7.8 GB, browser + flash pokazyvaet together otzhirayut 1.5 GB. I leave the browser, then I released 3Gb. In General a lot of different things in General, want to break the keyboard.
But again at work we have a bunch of designers sitting at Macs, rejoice and arrogantly look at the open.

I'm going to put Linux for web development and Windows for everything else.
If you are a designer and hipster, then take the Mac, if not better than Windows or Linux. For designers of course Linux is not an option.

I think under Windows you will collect much more powerful machine for much cheaper. Photoshop and Illustrator will be there to work faster, MS Office under Windows, in my opinion, also better than on the Mac. I'd looked all the same to the side Windows. (I work on Macs for a very long time, this is my main computer, but take it for Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign't see the point.)
