Need a good VNC client, and you pay below I will explain what I mean:
1. Need zoom the screen.
2. Intercept all keyboard shortcuts (for example ctrl+tab) and the possibility of switching off this interception
3. Cross-platform, but at worst windows will fit.
4. Well, of course all sorts of stuff, encryption type, heap settings etc.
5. No problems with encodings (Ultra Vnc. Now I have for example, not the Russian "u" on the remote machine and sometimes English characters hnyu what the issue is treated by juggling the layout on the remote car).

Connect to ubuntu 12.04 from windows 7. Develop on a remote machine.
Now I use UltraVnc, there is a major problem in a few minutes or for some sort of action off hot keys in the ide(idea 11 alt+ctrl+n, ctrl+n, ctrl+f), the browser (ctrl+f), but in General everywhere, I hottie listed just to explain what fell off. Treat closing the client and reconnecting. Dream about a remote ctrl+tab.

Maybe someone will write that development through vnc perverted, but now temporarily only to work. There are no other options.

That's the whole question.

I for these purposes until there is FreeNX + NoMachine Player.
It seems the only problem is the unwillingness to pick up their old sessions, but there it is probably from lack of time to fix them :)

I only have Tight VNC Java Viewer normally clings to the VNC console for Xen DomU (but this particular). Cross-platform. Chicken didn't work.
\r
p.s.: For iOS, for VNC, you can use iSSH.

Why not consider the option to make the main OS is Ubuntu and connect of RDP and windows?
\r
Under Linux work very well RDP clients based on FreeRDP.
\rapt-get install freerdp-x11 remmina
You can use GUI interface, and you can make a script to connect, for example, this script forwarding the RDP printer, clipboard, audio, home folder, plus all removable media.
\r
\rxfreerdp -u $USER -g 1600x1000 --ignore-certificate -k 0x00000409 --plugin rdpdr --data disk:desktop:/home/$USER/ disk:usb flash/media/ printer -- --plugin cliprdr --plugin drdynvc --data audin -- --no-tls --no-nla 192.168.0.1
\r
In this mode, transferred absolutely all the keys and key combinations.

If you are interested, rdp and vnc decided to give up. Best have shown themselves x11 forwarding on it and decide to stay.
Under Windows I use Xmanager (surcharge until a trial can buy) as x server.
There are still free cygwin and xming, cygwin, have not tried, xmind strained disabling hotkeys and cursor for text in the ide when switching between Windows. Putty as ssh client with enabled compression.
From ubuntu it's even easier ssh -X-C your_name@your_host, then run the desired program and enjoy life.
