Thinking about the mechanism of counting hits in one of their projects. In connection with this question: as Youtube, vimeo, etc. count the number of hits? For example, whether one and the same user looking at the video more than once, to increase the total number of views of video, more than a +1? (And if so, what are the limitations?)

Who knows, prompt, please. Thanks in advance.)

"A view is counted every time a user plays a video on YouTube. We do not detail these results, in order to avoid an artificial increase in the number of views"

Personally I begs the option of splitting it into several control points and tapping to the server of the fact view for each point. Then on the server to increment the counter display for example while browsing 60% of the points.
Although I know cases where a view is considered a click on the Play button.

But no one knows because YouTube himself says, and does not update data in real time. So you can see a viral video on the first day with three hundred hits, although they are really longer.

One can only assume that as it is tracked: for example, one Google-login is only counted once, and the average number of views per person is slightly greater than unity, that is, the data is likely close to reality, although who knows how long.

The video considers the impact of the video file to the user more than X% (the percentage varies depending on the statistics collected and counted and the what part looking at the video).
I.e. if the movie is long, but the links go to a specific point and he is only interested one minute, then after a while the coefficients of "normalized" and viewing only this moment (one minute from hours) will be considered for viewing (more than XX% of the proportion of this fragment).

Now casted me the same video opened and after the third view of a second (the length of video more than 4 minutes) I pressed F5 in the browser. Repeated 10 times. Summary: 10 views. I am logged under the same account under which it was poured. In General, not all of them so obvious.

I believe that the number of hits depends on each new unique visitor. It does not matter: pressed whether a new visitor the "play" button. In addition to IP addresses, the system even takes into account such parameters as: browser, screen resolution and hardware. If Yandex is possible to conclude that this movie looks the same visitor, then Google even more. And the fact that the number of views supposedly increases when you refresh the page in browser (F5), it only seems so :) actually, this means that at the moment your video browsing unique visitors.

Previously, it was possible to 300-hundred hits to get the same IP if I don't ausbaus, and many put a program that automatically refreshes the page for the new view. But even if it did,
it will give only 300 hits, and for the top you need to have more than one thousand. It is better to buy YouTube views, now there are quality services. Moreover, these views are hold and are accounted for by YouTube.
And this service is good because the views are essentially just a number, it cannot be seen, who looked. All the impersonal and track cheat in this case is very difficult.
