Going to buy a laptop, cast his eye on ProBook from HP, but my friend warned: he said that they are unreliable. Is it really so, or have nothing to fear?

I have 3 laptops from HP series ProBook and the like, and criticism to the quality I have. The oldest is 5 years old, but it still works. And the reason for the purchase of new laptops was only increasing performance and mobility. Now I actively use the 13.3" ProBook 6360b and in my opinion is that it is a bit heavy for 13 inches.

The experience of my friends problem series from HP is the Pavilion, but for me personally, these notebooks were not, on the nothing specific I can not say.

I will say this. Laptops I'm fixing for a long time. In HP there is a tendency to skimp on cooling, in consequence of which falls off or the North bridge or vidio. That's so...

The ones I knew were mostly dead from overheating. On some built-in card, on some discs, on some processors.
Well, they are very much pissed me off for the gloss always.

ProBook 4320s after the end of warranty in a month burned Multicontroller. Had constant problems with power supplies. Lies in the service for a year and a separate spare parts can not find and change the motherboard for 12 thousand(cost of the laptop at the time was something around 25 thousand) makes no sense.

Good question.
\r
Last year one of the official distributors bought a laptop HP Probook 4710s, 17", Intel® Core™2 i3.
From the first hours of work collapses, blamed on the fact that the 17" is fine.
Then I noticed another feature if you use hibernation. When using this mode had to restart the laptop because of "hibernation", he never left.
\r
Having suffered six months I decided to reinstall the OS, the benefit of this function is provided by the manufacturer. But it was not there when system restore was some kind of error and as an option it was proposed to repeat the operation or to insert the installation disc that originally missing from the kit.
\r
A month later the laptop started to warm up so that it was possible to fry an egg and after a couple of days longer to zagrujat OS.
\r
Applied in certified service center, month the laptop has been on the diagnosis. Then I was told that we need to change the hard drive. Asked whether to save the data on the disk, I said sure.
\r
A week later I called and reminded it's been 1.5 months and asked objasneni. I was told that tomorrow they will send my hard drive to the manufacturer and exchanged for a new one. At this point I became alert and asked them to repeat. My obamania was not in vain. If I by chance, they got a call that my hard drive was sent to the manufacturer on researching all personal information, because before departing they do not format the disk, and as it turned out not retain the information despite the fact that from what I requested.
\r
After 5 minutes of swearing, we phone, we agreed on that, they'll order a new drive and the old one sent in fact in this case spans the information and formats the drive.
\r
Two weeks later I called and said that ESDI ROM came and to go and to pay for the preservation of information 150 Tr 250 GB of data!
\r
As you know I was in shock, because previously no one told me about these rates. Asked to give me the hard drive so I threw information. But I was told that it is not possible. Then I called the toll free number to the manufacturer, where I was asked to write a refusal to repair with preservation of rights guarantees. The next day I came to SP and gave words of the manufacturer. Did not argue and gave the laptop.
\r
Next weekend I opened the lid and was surprised by the fact that all fasteners are mutilated and glued on the glue. But I can predyavlyat did not because to prove almost impossible that this is their handiwork, not mine. In General spread information to and fro.
\r
Two weeks have passed and I decided to call. The answer is that they know nothing and need to go in and bring documents confirming the right purchase so they could extend the warranty. The next day my wife brought the documents.
\r
A week later I get a call and are asked to bring documents. At this moment, I was shocked, because all the documents we have to carry in SC. In the end, another two weeks they searched for documents. During this time they sent back the hard drive to the manufacturer and two weeks later made the order, which was a month!
\r
In the end, after 2.5-3 months so-called repair we returned the laptop, while the main problem was never fixed. In addition to everything on the hard drive wasn't the OS. I had to call the manufacturer and order OS.
\r
2,5 weeks later got an email that the order is complete, although the discs did not come. They had to call the manufacturer and re-bid. Three days later came the drives.
Took the laptop to the diagnosis, a week later reported that on the conclusion of experts no failures have not been identified.
\r
In the end, six months of repair and 30K+ in the trash.
\r
PS: a Similar situation also happened with my close friends, only the symptoms probabilist Yeshe before: a week has stopped running the OS, this recovery also not working and to top it all burned power supply.
