The textual data has a character encoding (e.g. UTF-8, Latin-1, US-ASCII etc). This encoding describes how byte sequences are interpreted as codepoints (and conversely how codepoints are encoded as byte sequences). When the byte sequences shows as codepoint, there are shown characters due to the special codepoint.
